Greetings, everybody. In addition to my day job as the sports and features editor for the New Jersey Jewish News, I'm also a freelance writer, specializing in book reviews -- primarily baseball-related -- as well as pop culture. My work has appeared in such print and on-line publications as Huffington Post, Mental Floss, Baseball America, the Cleveland Plain Dealer, ForeWord Magazine, E Magazine, Irish America, and American Book Review, among others.I write about baseball books and other media regularly at RonKaplansBaseballBookshelf.com. I also blog about Jews and Sports at the eponymous Kaplan's Korner on Jews and Sports through the newspaper. It was named as the Best Blog of 2014 by the New Jersey Press Association.I am a long-time member of the Society for American Baseball Research and serve as editor for the Bibliography Committee Newsletter.My first book, "501 Books Baseball Fans Must Read Before They Die," was published by the University of Nebraska Press in of 2013. My new title, "The Jewish Olympics: The History of the Maccabiah Games," will be released in early July via Sports Publishing/Skyhorse.
