October "Toby" Day is a former street kid and half-breed Daoine Sidhe who's practically made a career out of running away from things. I almost bought the rest of the series just because of it. Engaging setting, a sense of humor and dismay! Ala...
Series: October Daye #1 This is what happens when I try to push myself to read at least 50 pages of a book I’m not finding interesting. My rating starts out at a mediocre 2.5 stars, and as I keep going, it falls steadily till it self-destructs around one star. I can’t really explain why I kept goi...
I read this book on the strength of the opening pages, which are quite strong. While I’m not a huge urban fantasy reader, I do enjoy them occasionally; compared to the genre at large, this one is lighter on the romance, heavier on the exposition and average on the snark. Unfortunately, it also has a...
