I love it when you pick up a book with neutral expectations and within a single chapter, find yourself looking for extra reading time in the day so that you can stay in the flow of the story. Second in the Steerswoman series. This one starts off a little slowly and ends with an emotional gut-punch. Ow. Also, I really appreciate that Kirstein pays attention to the physicality of her world, and gives a sense of the time it takes to do things/move through the land.

Another strong entry in the Steerswoman series. Unfortunately and frustratingly the last. I have some ideas about what's going on but it's still very sad to not having more to read about Rowan.

As good as the first one. Even though I loathe the mythical fighting desert people they were done very nicely in this book.

A bit weaker than the first two books. There was just too much exploration of a single topic. I think I know why the author did it, but I still didn't care for it. Still, a good book.
