Ross Clifford is a former lawyer. He is now an ordained minister and has pastored a number of Sydney churches, the last being Gymea Baptist. He is presently the Principal of Morling College (The Baptist Theological College [Seminary] of New South Wales) and Past-President of the Baptist Union of Australia. He is former Chair of the Australian Lausanne Committee and has recently commenced as Vice President of the Baptist World Alliance and President of the Asia Pacific Baptist Federation. He is in much demand as a conference speaker and preacher.Ross is the author of the easy to read book 'Leading Lawyers Case for the Resurrection'. The book is also in Russian and as a result the Deputy Minister of Justice for Russia handed the book to 1,000 Russian Judges and Lawyers. There are now Canadian and Arabic publishers/editions. He is also the author of the popular booklet 'The Resurrection ..... you be the Judge: Fact or Fiction?'Over the last fifteen years Ross has done many seminars on the New Age Movement and Postmodern spirituality. He helped run a Christian stall at the annual Mind.Body.Spirit Festival at Darling Harbour, Sydney. He has also advised the secular media on these subjects. His international publications on the New Age/Postmodernity include (with co-author Philip Johnson): 'Sacred Quest'; 'Riding the Rollercoaster: How the Risen Christ Empowers Life'; 'Jesus and the Gods of the New Age'; and 'Beyond Prediction : The Tarot and your Spirituality' (with co-authors John Drane and Philip Johnson). He is a chapter contributor to 'Encountering New Religious Movements' (Christianity Today's book of the year for mission/global affairs 2005), and 'A Spectator's Guide to Worldviews'. He was a contributing writer to 'Religious and Non-Religious Spirituality in the Western World ("New Age")', Lausanne Occasional Paper No 45.Ross has postgraduate qualifications from The University of Sydney, Simon Greenleaf (now Trinity Law School), and a Doctor of Theology from the Australian College of Theology. He has been Chair of SLM, the group which places Chaplains in professional/amateur sport throughout Australia. Until recently he was the Sunday night presenter of the top rating program 'Connections' on 2CH 1170 on the Macquarie Radio Network. He is the current President of the New South Wales Council of Churches.Ross has written, with co-author Ric Chapman, 'The Gods of Sport'. It describes the spiritual journey of Australian Sport heroes such as Nick Farr-Jones, Brad Mackay, Steve Lawrence and Melbourne Cup Winning Jockey Darren Beadman. Their second book, 'International Gods of Sport', describes the spiritual journey of international stars such as Carl Lewis, David Robinson and Bernard Langer. Other publications include 'John Warwick Montgomery's Legal Apologetic'; 'Ecumenical Dialogue on Scripture, Bulletin of Christian Affairs' (a brief exchange of 'letters' with Catholic philosopher John Young); as well as published papers on ethics and moral/legal issues.Apart from his recent Baker publication, 'The Cross Is Not Enough: Living as Witnesses to the Resurrection', another book, 'Apologetic Preaching and Teaching for the Church and the Marketplace' was short-listed for the Australian Christian Book of the Year 2012. In 2010 Ross was made a member of the Order of Australia. He is married to Beverley and they have two adult children.
