Moon Six: ★★★ An astronaut lands on the moon, only to find out it didn't belong to the Earth he comes from. A Brief Guide to Other Histories: ★★★ Meeting your doppelganger can't be good for you. Not as good as the previous four volumes due to the fact that volume 5 is really a compendium of loose ends in Hodgson's fiction that didn't fit in elsewhere. The alternate and copyright versions are uniformly inferior to the original versions of the stories and novels from the earlier volumes. Th...
I just read the first story in this collection. I picked it up at a friend's house and saw that there was a contribution from Caitlín R. Kiernan, so I read it while waiting. It was good. I noticed there were stories from a couple other authors I often enjoy, Cherie Priest and Tim Pratt, so I may see...
I have an unrepentant love of dystopian stories. I think it's an amazing vehicle to delve into men's psyche, especially when you look at the societies created. I also don't believe in utopia (someone's utopia is always someone else's dystopia). This anthology is a great collection of different dyst...
3.5 starsA very good compilation of stories exploring the them of dystopias. One warning - find some light/fluffy/happy books to read in between chunks of this book, it is just too depressing to read one after the other with no relief. Some classics, like "The Lottery" and "Minority Report", and pl...

There were a lot of stories I really liked and I can't think of any that struck me as particularly weak or mediocre. I particularly liked the final story, Civili...
I am currently on a horror-fantasy kick. Woo!
I'm having a hard time figuring out how to rate this. On the one hand, I can look at it objectively and see that it contains a lot of quality vampire stories, with a wide variety of takes on what makes a vampire, and what makes a human. On the other hand, I just could not focus on any of the stories...
This is a good collection of vampire stories all sewn up in a nice anthology. Mr. Adams once again does a good job of putting a very readable collection together.
