Zombie fun and games, but the games aren't fun. Excellent zombie tale of truths, lies, mistakes, abuse, control and revenge. There are some men that are just evil, and they aren't zombies. The dead have control of the world. The living are living in fear, hidden behind walls, willing to just exist t...

The narrator almost ruined this book for me. The only voice that I felt was done anywhere near the definition of 'well' was The Hammer's. And that's only because it sounded interesting and rather amusing, this big tough muscle man who hunts zom's for a living with this little high pitched, red-neck ...

I don't know why I didn't finish this book the first time - it's grand fun to read. Definitely going to check out Patient Zero (although from the blurbs of the following books the apocalypse gets averted, which... Nah.)

Wow, this is one of the best zombie novels I have ever read! This novel is great for readers 12 and up. There is the perfect balance of raw emotion and non-stop action.A book that runs in the same vein as Warm Bodies, Maberry dives in and shows what it is to be human. While most of the novel focuses...

I'm not even sure where to begin with this book, so . . . Content warnings:ableist languagesexismviolence and goreexoticism (possibly?)The concept of this book sounded promising: in a post-apocalyptic world overrun with zombies, children need to get jobs once they turn fifteen or they'll lose their ...

this became one of my favorite book thanks to one character and that is Tom Imura, the main character Benny's big brother. Yes I enjoyed Benny as well not at first because he was a very angry young man. However when his brother takes him out into the ruin has changed his thoughts change about the zo...

In all honesty, I absolutely adore zombie novels. But for whatever reason, it's been impossible to satisfy me with zombies recently. They're all too... boring. They can't turn doorknobs, they shamble along and in all likeliness, their only purpose is a scare/action type factor. So, you can see where...

I’ll be honest here. I almost ended up DNFing this one within the first 50 pages. I originally had started this as a buddy read with Jessi from Novel Heartbeat, but that plan kind of fell through when she decided to throw in the towel after the first few chapters. (I don’t blame you, Jessi! I was...

*Book source ~ Local library Living in a post-apocalyptic world where zombies are the norm, Benny Imura is reaching the age where he needs to decide what he’s going to do for a job. Since he hates his older brother Tom for abandoning their mother on First Night he does not want to join the ‘family...
There's more to life than reading, but it's a good place to start
"On their first trip into the Ruin, Tom had said that fear makes you smart, but Benny understood now that his brother had been talking about caution rather than fear. These zoms, every last one of them - even the smallest child - would kill him if they could, but not one of them meant him harm. Mean...
