It contains heartbreaking moments like the death of Gert. It's also very shocking to see that Chase is actually sacrificing himself in...
There's a tremendous amount of fun in a series like this: established characters and tropes to play off of, as well as new characters to explore. Because New York is traditionally home to Avengers, a visit there enables our West Coast teens to mock and engage in a completely different-feeling world....
I did not care for the kiddie style art in the beginning issues of this volume. Gert wearing a belly shirt? Never again, Runaways!
