Rus Healy is a second-generation "technical guy." Inspired by his father's Amateur Radio hobby (and career at IBM), Rus earned his first Amateur Radio license at 15, which fueled his engineering education (electrical engineering with a telecommunications focus), as well as his career. After college, Rus worked as a technical editor for ARRL (www.arrl.org) on QST magazine and several book projects, including a stint as Associate Editor of the Amateur Radio classic, The ARRL Antenna Book. Rus began his Cisco certification pursuits in 2003 with the CCNA, and earned his CCIE in 2005. He holds Cisco Professional certifications in design, voice, routing and switching, data center technologies, and other areas, as well as VMware VCP 5, Citrix XenDesktop, and storage technical certifications from NetApp, EMC, and Dell Compellent. Rus began with Cisco Press as a technical reviewer, and collaborated as a coauthor with Wendell Odom and others on Cisco Press book projects beginning in 2005.
