I was born & raised in the southwestern part of Virginia. I attended a small high school, in a coal mining community, which housed grades 7-12, with a total of 201 students the year I graduated. My graduating class size was 31!!! I can truly say I'm thankful I was lucky enough to attend a small school because we were "one big happy family"! After high school, I attended a couple of semesters of college, but not knowing what I wanted to do when I grew up, I decided to save my money until I did. Not too long after becoming a college drop out, I decided I would give the military a shot, and I joined the United States Navy as a Sonar Technician. (Notice there is no mention of writing.) I spent several years after my military stint working in automotive at a supplier to the Big 3. I experienced a lot of good things and met a lot of great people along the way! I moved to central Virginia with my husband and children in 2009, and that is when I began experimenting with writing. I started a blog on blogger.com as a way to relax. I found then that I really enjoyed writing. After I finished the first fiction blog, I did a second one. I was proud that I had accomplished that because I had never been a person who enjoyed writing. After I finished my second, I decided that I would try publishing my stories (both were well over 70k words). I had checked out Smashwords, and was interested. When I looked for my stories on my computer, both were gone! I had just tried reformatting my computer and thought I had saved them to a flash drive, but I was mistaken. The stories were lost forever because I had already deleted my blog entries, too! I gave up writing for a couple of years and moved to Georgia. This is when I decided to try writing again! I published Macyn's Letter while living in Georgia, but during the beginning writing stage of Macyn's Awakening, we moved to Florida (where I currently reside with my husband and children.) I've finally decided that writing is a good stress reliever for me (I also have tons of ideas floating around in my head), and I've recently started writing again!
