The court. Faces. Rows and rows of faces! One particular face with a big black moustache and shrewd eyes. Hercule Poirot, his head a little on one side, his eyes thoughtful, was watching her. She thought: He’s trying to see just exactly why I did it… He’s trying to get inside my head to see what...

Another enjoyable read by Agatha Christie. Unfortunately, the ending was not quite reasonable. The murderer killed for money, yet it was unclear how the money could be claimed and used without revealing the plot. For this reason, I could only give 3/5 stars. However, it was a fast and enjoyable ...

I enjoyed this mystery--for me, Agatha Christie is an easier read, but also enjoyable because of her portrayal of her characters, and most particularly her detectives. It's an easy, breezy read; a good change of pace from more serious stuff. But the characters weren't well-developed. I didn't really care who did it. So this isn't one of Agatha's better efforts.

A good Agatha Christie (Poirot) mystery--not one of the greats. But David Suchet read it and he is, of course, OUTSTANDING. He IS Poirot, but his other characters are distinct and incredibly varied.
