I tried to like this book. I really tried. When I was a kid, I enjoyed works like Mysterious Island. I also enjoyed 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, so I figured this would be ok. Boy was I wrong. This is one of those books that have so much filler at the beginning that by the time it gets to the core ...
