Lee holds M.A. degree in Sociology of Non Western Societies / Development Sociology (Leiden University) and PhD in Intercultural Theology (VU University / Free University Amsterdam). His research areas are Japanese culture & society, Christianity in Japan, sociology of religion and contextual theology.
