I'm originally from Ohio but I've lived in Wisconsin for many years. I retired from teaching elementary-age students a few years ago. Now I'm an active member of SCBWI. I read and review books for young readers of all ages, and share my thoughts and teaching experience in workshops for education professionals about the power of books to engage and improve readers. I have no Norwegian heritage, as far as I know. I hold my own heritage in high regard, but deeply admire Norwegian culture and history. When traveling with my friend to Norway for the first time I was welcomed by her family members, visited incredible locations, heard amazing stories spanning generations, met the most gracious and proud Norwegians everywhere I went, and fell in love with the country, its traditions, and its people.
