Sara Lindsay Rath was born and grew up in Manawa, Wisconsin where she graduated from Little Wolf High School. Her undergraduate degree (English) is from UW-Madison and she has an MFA in Writing from Vermont College. Rath has taught creative writing at UW-Madison and was on the faculty of the MFA in Writing Program at Goddard College. She currently teaches a week-long fiction writing workshop at The Clearing, in Door County, WI (www.theclearing.org) and is now working on an historical novel about the Vermont poet, feminist and spirit lecturer Achsa Sprague. Married for 25 years to Del Lamont, their combined family embraces six children, thirteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Sara belongs to Great Old Broads For Wilderness, and loves being outdoors -- especially at her family's northwoods cabin, Lindsay Lodge. She also knits bears for children in Africa whose lives have been affected by HIV/AIDS (motherbearproject.org). When she isn't writing she's thinking about what she's going to write!
