Savannah Alatorre, the precocious star of the "Savvy Stories" book series by her father, bestselling author Dan Alatorre, enjoys interacting with fans on her Facebook. Savvy's hit book "Laguna The Lonely Mermaid" was created almost entirely by her. Dan saw a spec eBook cover by artist Perry Elisabeth, who he regularly works with, and bought it immediately. Knowing Savvy would love it, he then called her over and asked her to tell him the story behind the picture. On a hunch, he videoed the moment. Savvy, with some prompting, created an entire story about a lonely mermaid, shipwrecked pirates, and a baby dolphin named Hope who helps save the day. The delightful children's book "Laguna The Lonely Mermaid" is the result - cute story for kids, created by a kid.
