Scott was born in Ogden, Utah. His parents, both teachers, moved to Stockton, California where he received the bulk of his education. He transferred to San Francisco State amidst the 60's "Love Generation." Following a B.A. in Sociology and Teaching Credential, Scott acquired a Masters in Library Science. The spirit of adventure took him to Scotland's Findhorn Community in 1977. He also participated in author Ken Keyes' Cornucopia Community in Kentucky. From his travels Scott learned to appreciate the underlying unity among all people. His love for classic film never wavered. He wrote articles for film publications, before the release of his first book from publisher BearManor: Kay Francis-I Can't Wait to be Forgotten (Foreword by Robert Osborne)--listed in Classic Images' "Books of the Year." Next up, was Virginia Bruce-Under My Skin (2008). This was followed by Ann Harding-Cinema's Gallant Lady (2010), with an introduction by author/film critic Mick LaSalle. Scott's biography Ruth Chatterton- Actress Aviator Author (2013)was listed among "Best Film Books of 2013" in The Huffington Post. Scott resides in Sonoma County with his partner Joel. His most current releases are: George Brent-Ireland's Gift to Hollywood and its Leading Ladies (2014, Foreword by Jeanine Basinger); and, Sylvia Sidney-Paid by the Tear (2016, Foreword by director Richard Kramer).
