I was right in my earlier prediction. I did not finish at page 75. This book just wasn't for me. I definitely got hung up on the fact that in the prologue it talks about the wind tugging at her hat, but less than two pages later it makes mention that she's not wearing a hat, multiple times. Not a Great Novel but definitely a fun (and fast) read.
There were some likeable characters, the writing was decent, and it had moments where it really explored things like women's rights, class issues, and the problems of India under British rule. Unfortunately this was buried under the other things: over the top scandals and drama, the "bad" characters...
