A young woman meets the concrete in front of her apartment building. It looks like self-termination, until Lieutenant Eve Dallas enters the woman's apartment and finds a scene of seduction; wine, romantic music, rose petals on the bed...And the ME finds a deadly date rape drug cocktail in the woman'...

This was a bit darker of a book for the series. I think we are seeing somehting happening in Eve she will have to get help to face her past, and I know that Roarke has been trying to help but she doesn't seem to want to help him. But overall I loved this book! This series has been too much fun!

These deaths hit Eve hard. She has to rely on Roarke to get her through the investigation. I like her thinking pattern and how she can get into the mind of the killer. I love how Roarke always has her back. Love these two.

Another enjoyable entry to the series. Enjoyed the interludes with Peabody and McNab. Needed to refresh my brain about Dr Dimatto though!

This is one of the few of these that I remember. The start of the book (with Eve's nightmare and her missing Roarke) was familiar but it wasn't until the book goes to the suspects POV that I really remembered this book. I don't have that much to say about this book, aside from how disturbing it...

Best one-liners:Eve: "Okay, now that I've let you fuck me and feed me, thereby satisfying all immediate appetites, I've got work."...Roarke: "Aren't you lucky to have me? A rhetorical question, darling," he said and stuffed caviar into her mouth. I still can't get over how amazing this narrator is!

I loved this book and it felt like I was reading one episode of Law and Order SVU with all those deaths and rapes, but the best part was how much this made Roarke and Eve a better couple. between searching for the killer and working with Roarke, Eve had a very difficult time in this book, but I keep...

Another great read by RobbI'm going to assume that if you're reading a review for book 13 in a series, you already are familiar with it and therefore don't need me to go into what these books are about—just whether or not this one was any good. It was good. Very good, actually. We got some progress o...

Posted on Under the CoversThe pursuit of love has never been so deadly. A killer seduced by the idea of love targets victims of an online poetry chatroom where after making an arrangement to meet, he wines and dines them, slipping potent and rare date-rape drugs into their drinks until all they feel...

I loved the book. The plot was great and kept my attention.I like the whole McNab and Peabody dynamic, tho i hope that this time it'll stick cause i like them together. I love when Eve is reprimanding other cops. Its fun to see. Can't wait to see what happens next.
