2/13/12 ** Absolutely fabulous. I've read this many times, but not for at least 5 years. Every time I read it, I see more layers. Most recently, I read it aloud to my fourth graders - amazed by their insight and empathy, even with just one reading.
This was a book required for my cross lit class in school.Very amazing and touching, but I wish it had been longer.
