Just with Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, I can't think of this book without cracking up. The ridiculousness of it works so perfectly, and now I couldn't for a moment image the original book without sea monsters and underwater cities.

After reading Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, and loving it, I was really excited to get my hands on this book. It's not quite as good as P&P&Z, but that may be because I like zombies better than sea monsters and I like P&P better than S&S. Winters does a good job of mixing the new Sea Monster part...

Eh, I like the originals too much I guess to get into this. It was just silly to me. I only made it to page 64 and decided I had better things to do. It took 2 weeks to get that far.

I should mention that I think this whole idea of inserting crazy mythological situations and creatures into the classics is a really genius idea, and I'm trying to come at this from a non-literary-prude angle, even though I study English literature. I very much hoped this book would live up to my ex...

This rendition of S&S was not as fun or "out there" as P&P & Zombies but it was still entertaining enough to keep me reading.

I feel this worked better than its predecessor, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies to see exactly how far Mr Winters had deviated from the original text. My favourite line: “But she does every thing well. Have you seen her peel a banana? It is like listening to a symphony.” I shall definitely be lookin...
