Finally fans of Joss Whedon’s Firefly are given some of the back history to character Shepherd Book. We learn what made the man who was so well train in arsenals and be a man of the cloth. The artwork is probably the best thing about this volume of Serenity. The background story was medio...

For some reason, this book is told in reverse order. At first, it makes you think Book was Alliance all along. Then you find out that before that, he was a Browncoat and infiltrated the Alliance and brought them their worst-ever defeat. Because of that, to me it felt like it negated the Firefly epis...

Excellent story well told, fills in all the blanks as promised. But I had to take off a star because the artist cannot draw faces. Half of the people here are featureless, and canon characters are only recognizable by clothes and context. This book, and Shepherd Book, deserved better.

This short graphic novel chronicles the backstory of one of Firefly/Serenity fans' favorite characters -- Shepherd Book. The dialogue and story stayed true to Firefly/Serenity, and I appreciated finally getting some answers to those unanswered questions that the series didn't get a chance to reveal...

This short graphic novels tries to answer at least some of the many questions about Shepherd Book's life - but, unsurprisingly, it doesn't QUITE manage to live up to the mystery...

There were so many loose ends that Firefly's premature end left dangling. Shepherd Book's backstory was one of them, a major one. This rather short graphic novel attempts to answer many of the questions, while still leaving holes and questions to maybe play with later. Book's story is told backwards...

I wasn't blown away by Book's tale. I thought he would tie in more with the operative and be a slightly different character undergoing redemption. I suppose I expected more.
