I really wanted to like this book. This is the first superhero novel I've ever read, and I was excited about it -- I love superhero comics, so seeing capes and spandex in another medium was exciting to me.I shouldn't have wasted my time. This book wanted to go places. I could see that. It was plotted...

This one has an usual arc. The moral voice and main character disappears half way through and I felt the loss such that I had a hard time connecting after that. Didn't know who to root for. Loved Empire State. I liked this book a lot more. Something about superhero books always gets me. For me, he did a great job at making the superheroes actually seem human. Thank god for flawed people.

Although I was primarily a Marvel man (The Amazing Spider-Man, The Uncanny X-Men, Excalibur, and The Incredible Hulk were my...

[sigh]  Another amazing cover from the folks over at Angry Robot Books.I'm not going to waste time talking about how awesome I think the cover is, though (even if I do), I want to talk about the book itself.  Or...try to, anyway."What?  Try?  What is she talking about?  SJ NEVER HAS A PROBLEM TALKIN...
