Season two of the tv show started and I knew I had to read Shadow of Night before watching it. This book is better than the first. The first now feels more like an introduction to me. This one was exciting from beginning to end, and it literally picks up where the first story leaves off. We learn so...

A low-key, gently entertaining read with an uneven pace and very little tension. "Shadow Of Night" was a slightly disappointing book that I'm hoping will make excellent television (my DVD copy of "A Discovery Of Witches Season 2" arrives next month). It starts immediately where the cliff-hange...

I would have given this more stars but I found that this book dragged on. I believe most of this book could have been left out. I felt there was too many chapters that had no relevance to the story, but hindered it. I shall read the final book at a later date.

A gripping read. Author's talent lies in making each page interesting and not having too many parallel, confusing story lines.

This book picks up the story where the first of the series left it with Diana and Matthew landing in the past. Even if there were certain elements that made this book interesting I found it extremely slow moving: I get that the author wanted probably to give a taste of the 15th century London E...

Oh look, a review! I finished a book! Granted it was an audio book, and it took me over a month to finish, but I finished a book. On to the review. So despite a few rather dense portions of the first book, A Discovery of Witches ended up garnering 4 stars from me. I was drawn in by the wide cast o...

After finishing the first book in the series, I moved straight into book 2. Book 1 ends on a bit of a cliff-hanger, so I would've been annoyed if I hadn't been able to continue with the series right away. This book involves time-walking. My daughter hates books about time travel. The theoretical...

While I loved the historical and scientific aspects of the first book, I found this book really slow and uninteresting. I found Diana and Matthew to be annoying at times, and I'm over the whole "I'm a territorial vampire with anger issues" act that Matthew portrays. Somehow I was able to tolerate it...
