OH MY GOSHNESS. I might have cried at the end if this book was a little longer. D': BEANNNNNN COME BACKKKKKKKKK D: But really, the book jacket was misleading. Very misleading. After all, it told me that "their ship's life support system begins to fail, and Bean's children must save themselves." WHAT...

A short book, the introduced characters are durned similar to the characters from previous books - resurrection? The story itself is okay, and well written. Between 3 and 4 stars, round up for the appropriate length.

I don't like Orson Scott Card. There was a time when he was a gifted writer, but that was decades ago. And I'm rather glad of that, I must admit, because his homophobia and religious bigotry offend me.But Shadows In Flight isn't as bad as most of his recent books have been. The most recent installment in Card's Shadow series, this reads more like an extended short story than a novella or short novel, despite its length. There aren't really enough plot points to warrant the length, so I infer that Card's purpose was not only to move Bean and his three genetically-modifi...

A slow start, a misleading jacket description, way too short!, but a good addition to the Ender series.

Audiobook review follows my comments on the book.I should say that I'm a huge fan of the Ender and Shadow Sagas, they definitely rank highly in my list of favorite books. This novella, however, didn't quite do it for me. The book focuses primarily on Bean's three children who share his genetic disea...

Orson Scott Card’s Shadows in Flight is a 5 Star ride at light-speed with Julian “Bean” Delphiki and his three similarly gifted and cursed children. Bean is simply the best character from the original Ender’s Game and this chapter in the tale is pure gold, at least for me. Bean is a genius due to ge...
