With both a doctorate in Jewish Thought and rabbinic ordination, Cherry strives to meld academic integrity with religious sensitivity. His book, Torah through Time: Understanding Bible Commentary from the Rabbinic Period to Modern Times is the first user-friendly text book on Jewish biblical interpretation. Cherry is also the featured lecturer for the Introduction to Judaism course in The Great Lecture series offered by The Teaching Company.
