In book two of this series Lily has a rough time. She loses friends, she get battered and hurt but that doesn't stop her from once more finding out just what is going on. With white supremacists, rich old southern families and an interesting and sexy tall, dark and handsome stranger Ms Harris has ...

"Shakespeare's Champion" the second Lily Bard mystery, confirmed to me that I'm hooked on the series. Unfortunately, the plot of this book was give given away in Charlaine Harris' latest book, "Midnight Crossroad", so I already knew a lot of what would happen. That I still enjoyed the book is a tr...

My thoughts on this book are similar to the last. I wasn't crazy about the book (though it was OK) and it moves slower than I'd expect a 200 page mystery to move. I think the issue is, after two books, I still don't really like Lily or feel invested in her. Hopefully book three has more to offer tha...

*5 Stars*See review for previous volume for more about author, etc. Review for Shakespeare's Landlord *The Gush...and The Rant apparently* This second in the series continues Harris' excellent work I spoke of on the first book. We see many old faces in this one as well some new ones. Lily continue...

I don't usually mind dark heroines, especially all that she's been through, but boy-o-boy this woman is so depressing. She rarely smiles, gives short curt answers to normal questions and still has men throwing themselves at her. I'm not sure Jack is good for her. He's so .... uber male with no sw...

I didn't enjoy it as much as the first. But will read at least the next one in the series before writing it off completely.

2.5 stars. This book is just not good very dissapointing. I would have quit the book if I hadn't bought it. At least I did not know who the murderer was until the end, and I do enjoy how Harris writes Lily's daily task and duties. Harris has a knack for writing about daily chores -- like cleaning...

Better than the first, perhaps. I liked the new mystery man better than Marshall and/or Claude. Maybe he'll stick around. But the whole mystery itself was a bit convoluted. Maybe this is due to me picking it up twice a day in random spots and driving while listening to it, who knows. But I just thou...

Hmmm. I didn't enjoy this one as much as the first book. It starts out promising enough. Lily discovers the dead body of a bodybuilder at the gym where she works out. Simple enough... but then we start hearing about Lily and her involvement in "the fight" and how it has brought some negative att...
