Shannon Stimson is Professor of Political Science (Political Philosophy and the History of Political and Economic Thought) at the University of California, Berkeley. She writes in the areas of both ancient and early modern political, jurisprudential, and economic thought and her books include The American Revolution in the Law (Princeton), Ricardian Politics (Princeton), Writing a National Identity (Manchester), Modern Political Science (Princeton), After Adam Smith (Princeton). She has held visiting research professorships at Oxford and Cambridge, and most recently the John K. Castle Professorship at Yale University. She has served on the editorial boards of the American Political Science Review and the Adam Smith Review.
