Shawn Kittelsen is the writer of Mortal Kombat X, a bestselling weekly comic series based on the game and published by DC Comics.Kittelsen graduated from NYU's Tisch School with a BFA in Dramatic Writing. He wrote the script and lyrics for the 2008 short film Over Da Rainbow, which sold to IndiePix after an international festival run. His screenplays have received the MPI Fellowship (for Bronxstead), a Coca-Cola Refreshing Filmmakers Award and the Russell Hexter Grant (both for They Say It's Wonderful).Beyond writing, he has worked for NBC, Esperanto Filmoj (producers of Pan's Labyrinth, Children of Men), HBO, and as editorial assistant to acclaimed author and educator Douglas Rushkoff. As a creative executive for DC Entertainment, he contributed to blockbuster titles like Batman: Arkham City, DC Universe Online, and Injustice: Gods Among Us. From 2012-2014, Kittelsen led a multi-award winning team as Senior Creative Director for Games at the Midnight Oil Agency.
