I'm not sure how I feel about this book. I picked it up in an airport because it was cheap. I finished reading it, so that's something. I kept thinking, high school students everywhere are probably reading this book.
This book was all around insulting. Is this Mr Lamb's idea of the way women act, think and feel? Very disappointing. Assuming that he didn't mean to generalise and that very well may be a woman like the main character somewhere in the world, even then the book crossed a line. It was too much, not on...
Your typical over-hyped Oprah book..In fact, I think this is the book that turned me onto what exactly an Oprah Book Club pick was! Some of the story kept my interest..just not enough to keep me interested.
I tried SO hard to read this book. I hardly ever give up on books...but this one did me in. Horrible. Just horrible. :(
The ending of this book is just TOO weird for me! Otherwise a pretty good story, though.
My first Oprah...in every way, a classic Oprah read...very bleak and depressing, but very true. I had no idea this genre existed...what I would call "women's fiction." People and relationships.
