Writing has always come easily to me. My first poem was published when I was 12. My first book, See Yourself in a New Light, was published in 1998. It is a compilation of previously published articles on personal development and success coaching.TRUE GHOSTS was published in 2008. It is a beautiful book of 22 true ghost stories illustrated with over 30 full-color photographs taken by master photographer Louis Wendling. Each picture has at least one hidden spirit face in it. These are so much fun for people of all ages to discover!I have just completed a children's book called The Little Stray Kitty from New York City. It is awaiting 22 original drawings of our delightful Mama Eleanora, a very queenly kitty we inherited about five years ago. Mama came to us on a first-class plane seat! She rules The illustrations are being drawn by two fine young artists of 5 and 8 years! Their talented mom is providing artistic backgrounds for them to draw Mama into. It will be a splendid book that people of all ages will love to read.I like to help new authors get published, and I have a page on my website (www.sheilaknows.com) called WRITE THAT BOOK that has a complete checklist for new authors to use when planning to write for publication. My next project is Images from the Cup: A delightful little treasure about tea-leaf readings! The text is done, but I am awaiting illustrations. Apparently it takes artists longer to draw than it takes me to write!I want to look into grant writing so I can help people get free money for creative pursuits.Sincerely,Sheila Van Houten, DD, PhDCEO New Light Consulting Corporationwww.sheilaknows.com
