She has lived and worked on five continents among many things as a waitress, researcher, teacher, lecturer and mother more or less in that order.Her young adult novel,In the Shadow of Inyangani, was a 2002 nominee for the African Writer’s Prize, run by Macmillan/Picador and BBC World.
