Author BioSherry Ann Miller grew up in Long Beach, California, Salt Lake City and Pleasant View, Utah, and currently lives near Port Ludlow, Washington. She married her eternal sweetheart and best friend, Frank, and devoted most of her life to raising their seven children. Sherry is the mother of seven (and now their spouses), she is also grandmother to twenty-seven, and a great-grandmother to one (but the number is expected to increase amazingly).Sherry Ann Miller loves her family and the Lord, Jesus Christ, and delights in watching her grandchildren progress under the tutelage of their parents. Aha, payback! Other than spending time with her husband and family, Sherry Ann enjoys long walks on the beach, exploring marine life, sailing, fishing, crabbing, reading, crocheting, growing herbs and flowers, researching family names and histories, writing novels and novellas, and baking bread. Although many of these activities have been curtailed by her compromised health, she still enjoys the "idea" of them.An optimist by choice, Sherry is a genealogist by addiction, and a writer by genetic composition. She does not like housework - no surprise there - and would find life much more pleasant if dishes and bathrooms cleaned themselves while she curled up with a good book. Consequently, the insides of her cupboards and drawers seem to fill up with odd assortments and her end table keeps growing taller with important notebooks and tidbits of information she's gathered. Please don't tell her these keepsakes belong in a filing cabinet. Sherry Ann has numerous such four-drawer creatures staggered inside her house, all of them stuffed full. Sherry Ann likes to keep little notes around, reminding her it's normal to be a little disorganized, and that God really does love her, after all. Her favorite is from her brother, who counseled, "Are we willing to put God before everything else, or are we still slaves to our own emotions?" When life becomes unbearable, she reads her brothers quote, gives a conciliatory shrug, and remembers why she chose Jesus Christ as her first and finest friend. Her writing credits include ten novels, two novellas, one biography, five family histories, several full-scale musical productions (which she also directed), numerous one-act plays and road-shows, three screenplays (two were semi-finalists and one was optioned), and several other works that are now in progress.Having earned her reputation as the "writer of miracles," Sherry's award-winning Gift Series is proof of her belief that she has lived from miracle to miracle during her sojourn on earth, from the moment of her birth to the present day. For this reason, Sherry Ann chooses to write miracles into her novels. She is a firm believer that "nothing is too difficult for the Lord." Many people dismiss miracles as science or fantasy. Sherry Ann hopes to change this way of thinking for some of those who read her novels. A rosebud opening its petals for the first time is recognized for its intricate design. So, too, is the human heart, which beats without any conscious effort. Both are miracles, yet scientists do not classify them as such. To Sherry Ann's eyes, everything is a miracle. This attitude leads her to accept God's love and the beauty of His world more fully. For Sherry Ann, one of the most amazing miracles is the thinness of the veil that clouds our view of the Spirit World. She states, "When we are fully in tune with our Father in Heaven, we will see that our loved ones, those who've gone before us, are not far from us. They, along with our Father in Heaven and Jesus Christ, want us to succeed. Thousands of our departed ancestors, together with the Godhead, make up an entire cheering section across the veil. They encourage us upon the righteous path of life, inspiring us to hold fast to the word of God. On the other side of the playing field, angry and fathering discontent, Lucifer beseeches us to choose any other path that will lead us away from God. The miracle of this over-balanced game of conscience is that we, alone, will choose how well we play the game."It is Sherry Ann's hope that her readers will begin to see that everything good in this life is a miracle, from the tiniest blade of grass, to the hearty pumpkin patch, to the majestic order of all creation. Occasionally, God throws in some unexpected twists that seemingly defy us and make us stretch beyond what we believe we're capable of, but He is always there to take our hand and lead us to success. Sherry is not alone in receiving some of the Lord's bigger challenges. It is at those times of greatest opposition that God works some of His most remarkable miracles. Sherry Ann is living proof that this philosophy is true. For health reasons, Sherry retired from an active life and now lives in a moderately isolated place near sea level in Washington State where she wishes to spend more time writing both novels and family histories. She enjoys time spent with family and friends, and loves hearing from her readers.
