Sherry Ginn has published numerous research articles in the fields of neuroscience and psychology, but currently focuses her extracurricular work on the intersection of popular culture with psychology and neuroscience. She is author or editor of books on women in science fiction television, sex in science fiction, and the award-winning series Farscape and Fringe. In addition to a book collectively examining the television series of Joss Whedon, she has co-edited a collection of essays focusing specifically on Whedon’s series Dollhouse. A collection on time travel in science fiction television, co-edited with Gillian I. Leitch, was published in 2015. A collection, also co-edited with Gillian I. Leitch, entitled “Who travels with the Doctor? Essays on the Companions of Doctor Who” is forthcoming (May 2016). A collection of essays about Natasha Romanoff, Black Widow is currently in press. Sherry is the Editor of a newly created series on the Worlds of Joss Whedon, published by McFarland and Company, INC. Her favorite television series are Firefly, Farscape, and Babylon 5 (not necessarily in that order). Her favorite characters are Natasha Romanoff, Aeryn Sun, Kira Nerys, Susan Ivanova, and Ambassador Delenn. She adores John Crichton, Jayne Cobb, and Captain Jack Harkness. Sherry earned her PhD from the University of South Carolina but won't tell you the date. She currently teaches psychology at a community college in North Carolina. She'll be at DragonCon this year, but not officially. She is the Co-Editor of the Science Fiction and Fantasy Area of the Popular Culture Association.
