Sidney Pash is an associate professor of history at Fayetteville State University in Fayetteville, NC. Dr. Pash's interest in Japan and US-Japanese relations began in his early 20s when he moved to Gifu, Japan as an English teacher. After that experience, he returned to study diplomatic history at the University of California at Riverside, where he earned his M.A., and Rutgers University, where he earned his Ph.D. In 2010-2011, Dr. Pash lived in Tokyo, Japan as a Fulbright Scholar, teaching at the University of Tokyo, Kyoritsu University, and Japan Women's University. He is married to historian Melinda Pash and has two sons.
