Mixed feelings about this one. This is set in a futuristic world where some humans are enhanced and those with the enhancements are super-special. Everyone is divided into clans/family where loyalty is a must. Punishment is banishment from said family. This futuristic society is still old-fashioned....

I was shocked to see this available through my library for check out. This was a nice short story that I was able to read while getting ready for work. It seems Ilona Andrews can do no wrong.

I don't know if it was its shortness or the plotline just didn't pull me in but I found this a little odd.It also seemed to happen too quick. One minute they were meeting for the first time and two days later, after not seeing each other again in between, they're having sex like crazy people and dur...
Steamy reads with a dollop of magic, mystery and hot... hot men
Funny - this was all kinds of short - and the story (via the book synopsis) never really gets delivered, but I still liked this book. It was well written, I liked the characters but am now a little wary of this author. Seriously! Isn't anyone else getting a little tired of all the short ebooks on...

I enjoyed the world building. I liked the characters. The story was well paced and while the plot sounded clichéd the execution of it was really good. Celino, the male love interest, has earned the distinction of being call the world biggest asshole by yours truly.

Rereading again. Thrice. I simply love this short scifi romance. Assassinations, broken hearts, revenge, delicious pastries and finding love again. Le sigh.Full review later.

Ilona andrews manages to evoke raw emotion in me through her writing. she's great with the "show don't tell" storytelling. her ideas and worlds are fascinating, easy to imagine, and I simply love and adore...

It started so promising, so very promising, tickling my appetite for graceful, ruthless assassins, outer space, old dynasties, artificially enhanced bodies and a bit of dangeous romance on the side. But soon, so very soon, the excellent premise got thoroughly drenched in stickily sweet romance of the...

Regardless of his playboy and me-me-me ways, I really liked Celino Carvanna. Oh sure he was selfish and only thought of himself but what teenage boy doesn't. Forced into a marriage with a much younger girl (her 10 to his 18), Celino verbally destroys her and runs. Now years later, Meli Galdes has...
