A serial killer hunt, and effective as one. Once again some of Marsh's supporting characters bother me - a truly repulsive pair of 'commoners', and she gives us yet another spinster who has 'gone wrong' through lack of a man. Ignoring the occasional grimace these produce, a solid story.
I forgot how much I liked Ngaio Marsh. Does anyone know if she has ever been adapted for radio or TV?
Another Inspector Alleyn mystery. I liked the beginning a lot, but found the end a bit tedious, unfortunately. Still, it features Alleyn at his investigative best, which is nice. (Dec 2011)
The closed circle this time is the (small) passenger complement of a cargo ship.
