Paranormal romance doesn’t get much more creative or suspenseful than Siren’s Call. In a world where the remnants of Alien life changed humans and their abilities forever, Rafe and Ella use their powerful talents to stop an organization set on violence. ‘I’ve dreamed about you, Siren. You don’t kno...

Three months ago, they met in the Underworld and he promised to call. A promise he didn't keep. Now he's back in her life, seeking her professional help. This was a rather disappointing read, if I'm totally (and brutally honest). I expect more and better from one of my favorite authors. This wasn'...

The BEST opening paragraph in a book I've read all year!! Love the Harmony series and this spin-off (kinda) just keeps getting better and better! What I liked: Ms Castle's (AKA Jayne Ann Krentz) writing is like coming home to a great cup of coffee. I know exactly what to expect and she never lets me...

I love this writer. She is reliable. Every time I pick up one of her books, I know what it will be about. I know I’ll enjoy it. I know it will be a few hours of pure escapist reading. And I know there will be no cliffhanger at the end. She writes series, yes, but each novel is a stand-alone, and you...

I know that there are silly parts of this but the story kept me reading and I enjoyed the characters, including Lorelei the Dust Bunny. Ella Morgan is a Siren, her voice has psychic power behind it and when she is summoned by a dust bunny to help, she has to use that power, and Rafe Coppersmith ent...

I have stacks of Jayne Ann Krentz's books (Jayne Castle is her science fiction romance name) and some are re-read favourites, like "Shield's Lady". When I started "Siren's Call" I got all excited. The first third is jammed with new ideas and fantastic possibilities. I read on, really pleased that...

You know, I have mixed feelings, both with the alien jurassic park, and the need to have the H/h oddities on a planet full of oddities. Granted, all the pairings have featured exceedingly strong oddities, so this is kindof expected. Doesn't mean I don't wish to occasionally see an average H/h. The n...

I liked this better than other recent Rainshadow novels. The characters are flawed and human, and interesting. The music talent makes a little more sense than some of the talents that Castle has dreamed up. And the plot in reasonably engrossing.

Siren's Call (Rainshadow #4) by Jayne CastleIn the alien catacombs of Rainshadow, there are creatures whose compelling songs lure the unwary to their death. That’s why Rafe Coppersmith, hired to clear out the catacombs for exploration, needs a music talent. He’s knows the perfect one, but she probab...
