Sizzle and Burn by Jayne Ann Krentz Book 3 of Arcane Society When Raine Tallentyre made the mistake of revealing her paranormal abilities, her most recent romantic relationship came to a hasty end. Her Aunt Vella, a gifted but troubled soul, had told her years ago to keep her talents a secret. An...
Krentz surprises me once again. I'm supposed to be saving these books for my vacation, but I can't seem to help myself. Who needs sleep anyway?
Raine Tallentyre is closing up her aunt's house. Aunt Vella heard voices and ended up her days in an insane asylum. Raine also hears things but she's convinced that it's paranormal stuff, at least it's helped solve some cold cases, and managed to ruin any possibility of romance with the cop involv...
Review of Bookhaving liked the first book in the Arcane series (Second Sight) and been a bit more ambivalent about the second one (maybe due to the narration). Was okay..

Lucky for her (and the witch hunter’s victim) the girl in the basement is still alive, but not the hunter has set his sights on R...
I'm skeptical by the description "steamy Victorian passion"...really? Hmmm, I'll give it a try :)
I kept thinking a page or two was missing here and there. Little gaps in the story. Nevertheless it's my favorite so far of the Arcane books.
