There will be some of you that think three stars is kinda harsh for this collection. After all, it includes such amazing tales as The Mist and The Jaunt. It must be amazeballs, right? Not so much. Reading this so soon after his first anthology, Night Shift, I found Skeleton Crew a disappointment. With his first collection, I only found one story to be really weak and several outstanding. While I wouldn't exactly say this book was the reverse, I only felt about half the stories worth the read....

The second collection of Stephen King stories provides an interesting mix, theres the great (The Mist) the good(The Ballad of the Flexible Bullet) the grisly (Survivor Type) and the godawful (The Monkey).It's mostly a two star collection but for The Mist it deserves a three.
