I heard of this book a couple years ago, but I wasn't entirely sure I wanted to read it until I went on my latest book buying shopping spree. I saw it in my recommendations from Amazon, reread the description, went to goodreads and read a couple of reviews and I knew I had to grab this book. I'm so ...

lol...my attempt at a .gif review. Look! I put in a picture that has nothing to do with the book!No secret...I'm not Penguin's #1 fan. That's largely because of their pricing on eBooks which are consistently on the high side when compared with other publishers, and often cost a lot more than a pri...

Jane Yellowrock is a skinwalker, the only one she knows. Of course, she doesn’t know much about being a skinwalker or her past - having been found in the woods as a child with no memory of her life beforehand. She’s also a vampire hunter, and an extremely good one. Now she has made a name for herself...

It's a good book. Definitely entertaining and I found myself wanting more of certain characters. I like some of the more tense moments. Beast took some getting used to, but I'm starting to like her... Will def read book 2.

Skinwalker was a good introduction to the world of Jane Yellowrock, skinwalker. She knew little about her past, only that she was part Cherokee, and that she could shift into the form of animals. And that she shared her consciousness with the soul of an animal, who she called Beast. Jane makes a ...

It took me a little to get into this one, but I'm really intriged to see where this series will go. I think it's a 3.5. I like that it's different and the vamps are actually somewhat scary at times. The book leaves you wondering about book 2, which is nice. What kept it from being 4 stars is that it...

Jane Yellowrock is a complex character. She's tough, inside and out. She's alone most of the time, except for the Beast. And she's not what you'd expect from the get-go, so try to read this one without any preconceptions... And she's now in my group of favorite urban fantasy heroines. The story in Sk...

It was ok but I think my opinion has been influenced by me reading it over number of days rather the than in one or two sessions like I normally do. If I had read it one session I probably would have liked it more. I loved Jane's humour and her unusual situation with her Beast. My only real criticis...

I liked this one, but didn't love it. Interesting worldbuilding and a strong MC, but I can only take the loner bit for so long, then I need more character interaction. The mystery was decent and I thought it was a good start.

I enjoyed this book a lot more than I thought I would. Jane is an interesting character. A skinwalker with no memories before the age of 12, but she carries a "beast" inside of her. She's also a kick-ass vampire slayer who takes a job for civilized vamps hunting a rogue vampire. The only thing t...
