Named after the Motown legend, Smokey D. Fontaine, is a writer, producer, on-air host, and digital creative executive. As an author, his first book What's Your Hi-Fi Q? (2002), written with mentor Scott Poulson-Bryant, chronicled 30 years of Black music. His second, the acclaimed E.A.R.L.: The Autobiography of DMX (2002), strove to be much more than a typical rapper biography, instead, a life history of a tortured and brilliant superstar talent. Fontaine has launched several groundbreaking fashion & entertainment magazines (incl Trace, america, GIANT), launched dozens of highly-trafficked websites (incl HelloBeautiful.com, TheUrbanDaily.com), and is the host of Interludes Live!, an intimate performance and interview show that has featured Alicia Keys, John Legend, Jennifer Hudson & others.
