All she wants is his name on the dotted line. He’s got other ideas… For Ella, marrying Devin had seemed like a good idea at the time. Friends since childhood and in love with him for as long as she could remember, marriage had been the next logical step. Then the real world called, and Ella’s feet had itched to get out of Backwards Gulch, Colorado. Now, with a new opportunity on the East Coast beckoning, it’s time to put her past behind her once and for all. When she sees Devin standing on a charity auction block, she decides it’s the perfect opportunity to finally get his signature on the divorce papers he never signed. Devin’s certain about one thing when he sees Ella for the first time in twelve years—she’s not the girl he married. The way she left him still stings, and if she wants him to sign on the dotted line he’s going to make her work for it…for the full forty-eight hours she paid for. When the old attraction flares between them, the years apart disappear and resolve melts faster than high-country snow in summer. But when Ella awakens with the same determination to get back to Denver, divorce papers in hand, she has a problem... Devin still hasn’t signed them. Warning: Bourbon shooters, shirtless cowboys, and a hot rendezvous or two…

I thought this would be a solid three star when I started, but it was just so repetetive. They had the same arg...
Ella & Devin got married at a young age. Ella couldn't take it and wanted out of Colorado and make something bigger for herself. She couldn't see them making it big in the world. Ella has been asking or a divorce and even sent papers a few times, but Devin never signs them. Ella comes back to to...
I kept thinking I knew where this story was going and each time Ms. Alward surprised me with an unexpected plot twist. The HEA was more believable than saccharin.
Sweet second chance romance with a sexy cowboy/entrepreneur and his teenage love that went a wandering. Though the plot devices are formulaic the story has charm and heart.
This was one of the free Samhain reads, and it was good. I definitely wanted a little more communication and less blame from the hero and heroine, but for a free read, it is definitely worth it.
