This was one tough book to get through, but at the same time it’s really hard to put down once you get into it. It tells the story of fall from grace of mean girl Regina Afton. Trigger warnings for attempted rape (twice in the book) physical and emotional violence. This is bullying to the extreme. T...
The Reading Perusals of Rose Summers
Initial reaction: Quick read, but man, this book hurt. I think it reaffirms that I will devour everything that Courtney Summers writes. I liked this quite a bit, though only with a few caveats.Full review:I'm in awe of how well Courtney Summers can write flawed heroines. Regina, the protagonist in t...

I didn’t connect with this one quite as much as I did with Cracked Up to Be, and I’m not 100% sure why. Nevertheless, I really like Summers’ writing and will continue my read through her backlist.

Review also posted at Ja čitam, a ti?After This is Not a Test I was sure that I'd be reading other books by this author. I loved her writing style and the way she crafts her characters. It's even possible to touch them and you have feeling like you're inside them. In Cracked Up to Be it was a bit di...

Some Girls Are features Regina, a "popular" (seemingly everyone hates her so this could or could not guarantee her popularity in this backward world) mean girl, the best friend of a ring leader of five girls. But she is outcasted from the group, essentially now lost without her attachment to the oth...

This is the "Blubber" of YA. Read it in one sitting and kept tapping the screen at the end, hoping there was more. Loved it.
