I've been very happily reading through Lisa Kleypas' catalog. The Wallflowers books are pretty great (other than the one with the St Sebastian dickhead) and I think the Ravenels don't have a bad volume, even if the first one is a little weak. But this is inevitable when reading backwards through som...

A History Nut's Romantic State of Mind
FINALLY! I don't know how long it took me, a few months I suppose, to finish this book. This has never happened with a LK book, even the Russian princess and prince series was easier reads, and I wasn't exactly crazy about them. I think the book bored me because Damon, Lord Savage, was pretty certai...

WARNING! This review WILL contain fairly specific plot spoilers, but it's an awful book, so you don't want to read it anyway, and should thank me for explaining in detail why you should avoid it.Jessica Wentworth is probably the most successful actress in London, but she's hiding a deep dark secret....

This was just an OK read for me. I think had I not listened to the audio, I would have given up on it. I wasn't sure I really liked Julia. While I understood her need for freedom and her love of the theater, I thought she was a bit too unbending about it. I also got tired of her indecision about...

It's fast to read, but I found it quite lacking. The heroine could have been great but I wasn't convinced on her development. The hero was ok. I liked him but it didn't kill me. There isn't a true conflict expect the heroine's uncertainty. I can't say I loved this particular Kleypas.

I enjoyed the novel. I'm a sucker for hidden identity plots. This novel involved Damon and Julia/Jessica though it is really more Julia's story. Damon's character isn't really fleshed out and tends to come off very high handed and more of a jerk. Since we have more of Julia's side of the story,...
