I really disliked Joe. He didn't come across as sympathetic, unlike the second book. He treated Nick terribly through the whole book and, by about halfway through the story, I was hoping Nick would just move on. I get that he was grieving but some people are just assholes.
Maybe it's just that it's been so long since I read the other books in the series that I forgot a few important details, but I just didn't click with this book.Joe is mourning the death of his wife and unborn son when he is told by his best friend/former lover Nick that they were actually murdered (...
My favorite of the series, it packed a punch and was exciting making it hard to to put down.
