The story is narrated by K who is inlove with his best friend Sumire, who is in love with Miu, a woman seventeen years older than her. Compared to Miu who is glamorous and a successful businesswoman, Sumire is an aspiring writer and dresses in an oversized second-hand coat and heavy boots like a cha...

A dodatkowo sporo tu w powieści niedopowiedzeń, jakic...

Star Rating: 3.5 Stars, Borrow it Self purchase, Kindle edition. Before I discovered reading websites, I used to have subscriptions to reading magazines. It was in one of these (bookmarks I believe) that I discovered Haruki Murakami. This author is really amazing and I love most of what he wri...

I think how you feel about this novel depends on which of his other novels you have read first. After reading the last two books from the Rat series, Norwegian Wood, and 1Q84, this novel was good. I love that he has different style and voices but still deals with the disconnected character trying ...

This was the first Murakami novel I read, and it was a pretty good introduction to his surreal, beautifully elusive and yet precisely written world. I'm now a Murakami addict.

as this will almost certainly end up a highly bloggish type of review (more about reviewer circumstances and random literary thoughts rather than the book), I guess I'll stealth update this. all you have to do, see, is check that little box at the bottom of the review thing "add to my update feed," ...

So, back to Murakami, again. I intend to read all his novels, that's for sure, just not on a reading spree. I'm in love with how his words flow, with how he blends fantasy into reality, with the type of characters he creates. But I want to take his prose in small doses, so that it would last longer....

As usual, this was quite good. Perhaps not so good as some other works by Murakami, but awesome none the less. Again it mixes mundane reality with unreality.A young man has a friend, Sumire, who falls in love with a married woman. Sumire begins to work for the woman and they go to a Grecian Island t...
