Don't be fooled by the description. This book is actually a romance hidden under a flimsy fantasy-book disguise. I was lured in by the promise of adventure and a fantasy plot, but instead I just got endless pages of slow-building romance. Which is not a bad thing, but definitely not what I expected....
I got pulled out of this old school sword and sorcery, and found I had no urge to go back. Rather than twist my own arm and force it, I'm going to shelve this for now.
I have been having a lot of luck in the bargain books sections lately. Star of the Morning was one I happened across at B&N and couldn't resist.
