This book teaches students that it is okay to be yourself and you don't have to try and fit in. This book would be great for a 4th grade class. I would have the students fill out a graphic organizer as they read the book. They could also pull out vocabulary words from the text.
I loved Stargirl as a kid, and I still love it as an adult. I also think it has one of the best covers I've ever seen on a book. It's simple, memorable, and attention-grabbing. Very cool. The main character, Stargirl, is a little unusual. She cheers for both teams during basketball games, attends the...

I remember picking this book up in elementary school and never putting it down. It was my favorite book for such a long time and is still among my favorites, it'll always have a special place in my heart. I still have my original copy and don't plan on ever losing it
"She was elusive. She was today. She was tomorrow." I've been hearing about Stargirl for years. Several people have raved about it. And for some reason I'm just getting around to reading it. Boy, I'm glad I did. A book that actually lives up to its hype. Leo lives in a normal high school filled w...
This was a truly magical book. Leo was a wonderful character, and even at the end I really liked him. I can imagine why he did what he did, why he wished Stargirl would for once just be normal. Nobody wants to be ignored forever, nobody wants to be hurt by others and I can also imagine he was embarr...

Stargirl is one of those books that is so pretty to read, you just want to underline stuff. then you realize that if you started underlining stuff, you'd end up with the whole book underlined and a lot of dead pens. Parts like this "She laughed when there was no joke. She danced when there was...
I read this book a while ago and then stumbled across it again recently as I was picking out things to donate to charity. I flipped through it. I stared at the cover a while. And then I tossed it in the cardboard box labelled donations. I did not enjoy this book. It is dull, plain and simple. It c...

She handcrafts gifts for all on holidays, she gives each student their own “Happy Birthday” serenade and she cheers for bot...
