I won Starry Night by Debbie Macomber from ABC50 Book Club contest. It was a cute and easy read. It has a perfect mixture of humor and romance. I love both main characters Carrie and Flinn. They are a great couple and have loads of chemistry. A perfect novel for the Christmas season.
1.5 starsRead this for 12 Tasks of the Festive Season: Task the First: The Winter Wonderland:- Read a book that is set in a snowy place.I think I sub-consciously rounded up because of how gorgeous the cover is. The hero and heroine spend around 96hrs together, 48 of that is contentious. I have no...
Carrie wants off the society page. She will get her chance if she is able to find and interview reclusive author Finn Dalton. She looks for him but will she find him? This is a sweet romance that makes you pull for the couple. They are opposites in every way but are still attracted though they try to...
This book had so much of what I look for in a holiday story. I love that the season was important, but it wasn't everything - it was there to be a part of the story, not the story itself. Carrie is a career driven reporter that has taken on one heck of a challenge. Finding the most sought after and ...
I was not a fan of this narrator. Her voice and affectations were very annoying to me. So it's kind of surprising I made it all the way through. The story itself was only okay. The heroine, Carrie, was another annoying journalist. Some of the things she thought and did throughout the beginning wer...
Thanks librarything for an advanced readers copy, in exchange for a review. This is a cute little story, considered light fluffy romance. No sex, nudity, awkward situations, basically a boring romance. The story is about a editor for the society page wanting a real job as a reporter. Her boss offers...
I picked this book basically based on the cover that I saw while roaming my library's OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog, if you wish to know what it means) and because it was a Christmas book that would qualify for the Christmas Spirit Reading Challenge. I was just coming off reading Ms. Macomber'...
This is Christmas read #2 for me this season and this is also the first Debbie Macomber book I've ever read. I never had much interest in her books, but this one is set partly in Alaska and I couldn't resist. So, much like my last Christmas read, the hero of this book is estranged from his mother....
Starry Night A Christmas Novel by Debbie MacomberI wanted to read this book for the title as it reminds me of Don MacLeans' song: Starry, starry night / Paint your pallet blue and gray...Carrie is currently in Chicago working as the society reporter but she wants to be a real reporter and Sophie can...
Believe it or not, Starry Night is the first Debbie Macomber book I have read. I enjoy light romances, often interspersing them between my historicals, mysteries, and thrillers. Add to that the advent of the Christmas season, when I get in the mood to read lighter stories that center around Christma...
