A native of Germany and a longtime resident of the United States, Stephan Schaffrath lives in the small university town of Indiana, Pennsylvania (not to be confused with the entirely fictitious small university town of Wyoming, PA or the entirely real town of Wyoming, PA) with his wife, son, tatzelwurm, and cat. Born in Munich in 1970, he grew up just a few miles from the Bavarian metropolis in the small town of Olching. A literary critic by training (Ph.D. in English in 2004), he splits his eclectic writing interests between academic articles and fiction books.
